By Dhirendra Prasad Sah, Janakpur, June 7: Satish Singh of Janamat has been appointed as the Chief Minister of the Madhesh Province. He was appointed by the Chief of the Madhesh Province, Sumitra Subedi Bhandari, on Friday.
Bhandari appointed Singh as the claim was stocked with the support of the majority of members of two or more parties as per the provision of Article 168 (5) of the Constitution.
He received the support of 56 members of Parliament (MPs) from the CPN (UML), CPN (Maoist Center), CPN (Unified Socialist), Nagarik Unmukti Party and some other fringe parties.
He was elected from Constituency 2 of Saptari. He was elected as the ward chair in Tilathi Koilaldi Rural Municipality from Saptari in the local level election of 2017, following that he was unchaired from the post in the next election of 2022. After this, he became a member of the province assembly from the Janmat Party in the general election of the same year.
