Husband kills wife as she fails to show money sent home

By Our Correspondent,Tanahu, Apr. 8: Jit Bahadur Kumal has killed his wife hitting her with a sharp weapon in Byas Municipality-5 in Tanahu district. Chief of the District Police Office, Apil Raj Bohora said that Jit Bahadur hit his wife Sun Maya Kumal, 35, on her neck with a sharp local weapon called Dau.

SP Bohora said that police arrested him at the crime scene, and police recovered the weapon used in her killing and severed the palm of the deceased from the crime scene. According to the police, Jit Bahadur was a migrant worker and had recently returned home from abroad. The incident seemed to take place after the wife failed to give details of the money he had sent her from abroad, said the police.

The body of the deceased Sum Maya Kumal has been taken to Damauli Hospital for postmortem. According to an eyewitness of the village, Jit Bahadur killed his wife by chasing her in the village. 

When the deceased tried to defend herself, her left hand's palm was severed, said police. Jit Bahadur and his wife had differences since he returned from abroad after she could not show the details of the expenses, said the locals.
