By Siraj Khan,Nepalgunj, Apr. 7: Three schools in Gularia Municipality, Bardiya, have received science laboratory materials from Plan International Nepal. The Mayor of the municipality, Muktinath Yadav, has said that Plan International Nepal has supplied all the necessary materials for laboratories to three schools lacking science laboratory equipment within the municipality.
He said that due to the lack of science laboratory materials, students are deprived of practical knowledge in science. Therefore, the needed science laboratory materials were requested to enhance student's learning achievements through experimental exercises.
Meena Parajuli, Regional Manager of Plan International Nepal, announced that Plan International Nepal has provided laboratory materials worth Rs. 1.87 million to Trishakti Higher Secondary School in Kamalpur, Ward No. 1, Janaki Secondary School in Ward No. 2, and Gaurishankar Secondary School in Ward No. 11 within the municipality.
She said that recognising the challenges faced by students in schools lacking science laboratories, Plan International has provided laboratory materials to impart practical knowledge to the students.
She added that this initiative is expected to enhance students' academic abilities. Sabitra Gautam, Deputy Mayor of Gularia Municipality, said that upon the operation of science labs in schools, both teachers and students will be directly benefitted.
During the occasion, the school administration, teachers, principals, members of the Parents and Teachers Association (PTA), School Management Committee (SMC), representatives of the local government, and members of children's clubs were present.
For the science laboratories, Plan International has provided support in the form of 178 science-related instruments, including microscopes, stethoscopes, human body charts, flasks, test tubes and chemicals, weighing machines, human skeletons, funnels, measuring instruments, heating instruments, pipettes, Bunsen burners, thermometers and binoculars.
