Paulo nominated for India’s CMS International Children’s Film Festival

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Apr. 6: Nepali short film ‘Paulo’ (The Shoes) has been nominated for India’s CMS International Children’s Film Festival (ICFC).

 This festival is being organised in Lucknow, India, from April 15 to 21.

 The short film ‘Paulo’ tells the story of a shoe and features Prashant Humagain, Subash Silwal, Mohan Shrestha, Uddhav Dangal, Naren Bhattarai, Nischal Karki, Munna Dahal, Lizesh Thapa and 

Sandesh Thapa.

Shot in Kathmandu, the film narrates the story of a street child without a family living in the Pashupati area, with the main character being the shoes. 

The shoes play a central role throughout the storyline, influencing the characters’ emotions and experiences.

 The film explores the idea that shoes hold not only material value but also human emotions.

Mohan Avilashi has written and directed ‘Paulo,’ produced by Aina Arts. 

Avilashi emphasises that while other films typically focus on human characters, ‘Paulo’ attempts to portray shoes as the main character and life force.

 Abvilashi’s previous short films ‘Bhau,’ ‘Ghurra,’ and ‘The School Wall,’ have been selected for various international film festivals and screened in multiple countries.
