By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Mar. 22: Nepal Police Club and Everest Volleyball Club set up the title showdown at the 8th RBB NVA Women’s and Men’s Volleyball Championship. In the women’s semi-finals held at NSC Covered Hall, Tripureshwor, Police defeated APF Club by 3-1 and Everest beat New Diamond Sports Club in straight three sets.
In a thrilling match, the Police defeated APF with a score of 27-25, 25-22, 28-30, and 25-17, moving closer to defending their title.
Everest, led by National team captain Aruna Shahi and featuring three Indian players, beat New Diamond by 25-20, 25-12, and 25-18.
In the men’s category, the Police advanced to the semi-finals by defeating Koshi Province in straight sets of 25-13, 25-16, and 25-13. Police will now face Tribhuvan Army Club in the semi-finals. Army also made it to the last four by defeating Sudurpaschim Province 3-1 in the men’s last quarterfinal match. Army won the first, third, and fourth sets by 25-19, 25-23, and 25-17, while Sudurpaschim won the second set by 25-22.
Tip Top Help Nepal and Gandaki Province will see each other in the other semi-finals of men’s category.
Thirteen men’s teams and seven women’s teams are participating in the tournament organized by the Nepal Volleyball Association. The winner of both the men’s and women’s categories will receive Rs. 5 lakh, the runner-up will get Rs. 2 lakh, and the third-place team will receive Rs. 125,000. The final match will take place on Saturday.
