By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Mar 19: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ said that preparation is underway to declare a health insurance program in the National Pride campaign.
Responding to the queries made by Members of Parliament (MP) during the House of Representatives (HoR) on Tuesday, the PM said that programs such as making health insurance identity cards compulsory, insurance to the families of those who go to foreign employment, making income based health insurance premium compulsory of employees, teacher, and people’s representatives, will be extended.
The PM said, “The government is assessing to integrate all the programs of all kinds of health security programs, and to declare the health insurance to national pride campaign.”
Prime Minister Prachanda said that So far, there is access to 33.2 per cent of households and 24.7 per cent to health insurance. Health insurance has reached 751 local bodies.
