Nearly 17,000 children receive measles, rubella vaccines in Doti

By A Staff Reporter,Doti, Mar. 10: A total of 16,823 children in Doti district have been successfully vaccinated as part of this year's measles and rubella vaccination campaign. 

Surya Bista, coordinator of the Measles and Rubella Vaccination Campaign at the Health Office, Doti, reported that out of the targeted 17,848 children aged between 9 months and 5 years, 94 per cent have received immunization against measles.

Despite the planned duration of the campaign being from February 13 to 20, the Health Office Doti continues its vaccination efforts.

Ramesh Malasi, head of Health Office, Doti, explained that considering the possibility of children in rural areas missing out on measles and rubella vaccination, local authorities are conducting a micro search to ensure comprehensive coverage.

Across the various local levels of Doti district, vaccination rates varied, with KI Singh Rural Municipality achieving 112 per cent coverage, Bogtan Fudsil, Zorayal, and Adarsh Rural Municipality at 102 per cent, Dipayal Silagadi Municipality at 92 per cent, Purvichauki Rural Municipality at 89 per cent, Badikedar Rural Municipality at 87 per cent, Sayal Rural Municipality at 84 per cent, and Shikhar Municipality at 83 per cent.

To facilitate the vaccination drive, 380 vaccination centres have been established across all nine local levels of Doti district, ensuring accessibility and convenience for the targeted group.
