By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Feb 25: Ani Choying Drolma: Nothing Impossible, a biographical film based on life of nun turned popular singer, Ani Choying, is to be screened as the opening film of the Nepal International Film Festival (NIFF).
KP Pathak, NIFF Chair, informed that the documentary directed by F. Jennifer Lin and Shan Bai will be screened as the inaugural film of the festival on 14 March.
The film revolves around Ani’s musical journey, life as a nun and social services.
Director of the biopic Lin said the documentary is focused on Ani’s search for freedom.
Lin, a professor of mass communication at the City University of Hong Kong, followed Ani for seven years to make the film.
In her interviews to different medias, Lin has said that she made a plan to make a film on Ani while visiting in 2010 the Aryatara School that Ani established for the education of poor children although she started making the film in 2015.
The documentary has been a center of attraction in different film festival of global scale.
The biopic won the Asian Pacific Audience Award and the Netpack Ward in the Warsaw International Film Festival last year.
