By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Feb. 7: Mongolian Heart, established as a group singing ensemble, is set to perform in South Korea after a five-year hiatus. The band had previously performed in Australia in April last year and is currently gearing up for musical performances in South Korea.
Boby Lama, the band’s manager and guitarist, announced that their performances in Korea would begin on coming Friday.
The band’s lead singer, Raju Lama, will be showcasing their popular songs in the musical programme organised by the Nepal Korea Cultural Exchange Association.
“We are thrilled to be performing in Korea after five years, and we are determined to astonish the audience,” stated Boby Lama. Raju Lama, the band’s lead singer, rose to fame after the band was established in 1992.
Known for their folk, slow rock, and pop melody music, the band comprises guitarist Boby Lama, Santosh Thapa Magar on drums, Bhupendra Bajracharya on lead guitar, Pawan Kapali on bass, Binaya Maharjan on flute and Baburaja Maharjan on Madal.
Songs like ‘Badal Pariko Deshbaat,’ ‘Ma Maya Laaudina,’ ‘Halla Chalechha,’ ‘Timilai Dekhera,’ ‘Prakhaima,’ and ‘Sayad Timro Baama’ are among the band’s hit numbers.
