‘Jigree’ to release on February 16

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Jan. 22: Three distinct posters of the film ‘Jigree’ have been released along with its release date. 

The film is set to hit screens on February 16, accompanied by the tagline ‘Yeuta Aalu Jasto, Arko Tama Jasto,’ which translates into English as ‘One is like a potato, the other is like a bamboo shoot.’ Directed by Akash Magar, ‘Jigree’ blends elements of comedy, crime, action and drama.

 The cast features Abhay Raj Baral, Akash Magar, Sushil Raj Pandey, Pashupati Rai, Supriya Rana, Roshan Subedi, Jeevan Baral, Basudev Khanal, Nabin Lamsal, Kedar Shrestha, Diwakar Ghimire, Sushila Laxmi Maharjan and others. The film narrates the story of two boys with contrasting behaviours who arrive in Kathmandu with numerous aspirations.

 The central theme revolves around the struggles of these young individuals to survive in Kathmandu amidst soaring prices and shortages.

 The film endeavours to depict the challenges faced by ordinary Nepali youth, showcasing their hardships and the ensuing events through a blend of comedy, crime, and action.

Kusum Thapa Magar serves as the executive producer, with Kumar Shrestha as the producer of the film.

The cinematography of the film is directed by Sumit Bhatt and Somit Majhi while Sarun Manandhar edited the film.
