blog

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Jan. 19: The play ‘Masinya’ is scheduled to take place at Mandala Theatre in Thapagaon, Kathman from January 25 to February 11. Written by Rabat Syangtang and Laxmi Rumba, the play is directed and conceptualised by Buddhi Tamang and Sonam Lama.

Director Buddhi informed that the play delves into the pain and struggles endured by the Tamang caste over centuries, primarily addressing community issues.  He added that the play not only narrates the tragic tale of the Tamang people but also portrays the rhythm, beauty, culture, and environment of Tamang life.

Sonam, another director, said that the play contributes to a deeper understanding of the Tamang community through this dramatic presentation. Currently, rehearsals are taking place at the Nepal Tamang Ghedung hall in Bauddha, Chuchchepati. Artists including Sunil Tamang, Rabin Dong and Ramila Moktan are preparing to bring the play to life.
