Indian Minister inaugurates new TU Central Library Building

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Jan 5: External Affairs Minister of India Dr Subrahmanyam Jaishankar inaugurated the new building of the Tribhuvan University (TU) central library and other post-earthquake reconstruction projects today.

S Jaishankar along with Minister for Foreign Affairs Nepal, Narayan Prakash Saud witnessed the inauguration ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, Jaishankar said that under the leadership of PM Modi (Prime Minister Narendra Modi), the government of India is committed to continue redefining its relationship with partners in the neighbourhood especially with Nepal.

He added "In recent years we have witnessed the real transformation of the Nepal-India relationship with significant strides made in a variety of areas. This partnership has expanded multi-folds and connectivity, be it physical, digital or energy-related has become a cornerstone of this expanding collaboration. This has further strengthened the people-to-people linkages between our two countries." 

He stated that "our collaboration and initiatives in promoting youths by providing education opportunity and also by making good education infrastructure like this library building available to them with only empowering to them in the positive transformation of both countries."

Jaishankar assured that India is committed to extending its steadfast support and working with the same honesty to further realize the potential of the relationship for the full benefit of the people of the two countries. 

The building and projects have the grant assistance of India.
