By Our Correspondent,Humla, Jan. 5: School students in the northern part of Humla district are happy when they are allowed to take their examinations in the open basking in the sun. They have got the opportunity at a time when they have been unable even to play inside their classroom because of the dipping mercury in the district.

“It has become easier to write examinations sitting outdoors in the sunlight. It is freezing inside the classroom during the winter and many friends were facing difficulty writing answers,” said Shrijana Shahi, a student at the Balbhadra Basic School of Simkot Rural Municipality -8

Prem Kala Buda, headteacher of the school, informed that the school management decided to take the examination in the open field as it was extremely cold in the classroom.  “ A total of 150 students from grades four to six are taking the exams outside the school buildings. Desk and chairs are also provided to the children to write the exams,” added Buda.

Similarly, Dev Bahadur Buda, Headmaster of Saipal Middle School, informed that 300 students from grades four to 10 are taking examinations in the open field because of the freezing temperature.
