NC's Bagmati Province conference today

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Dec. 23: Nepali Congress Bagmati Province Committee decided to hold  the party’s first Bagmati conference on Saturday.

Committee chair Indra Bahadur Baniya organising a press meet in the Capital on Friday informed that preparations for the conference were completed.

NC president Sher Bahadur Deuba will inaugurate the conference which will be attended by the province representatives of 13 districts.

Baniya said that the agenda of the conference were federalism, secularism and a proportional electoral system.

In the conference, coordination and co-work among the three-level governments for their rights and implementation of programmes will also be discussed, Baniya said.

About 800 representatives from the federal parliament constituencies, province assembly constituencies, municipalities and others are participating in the conference.

Hierarchy row was seen in various provincial conferences of the NC.  When asked about it, Baniya said his committee would maintain the hierarchy of the leaders based on the party statute and decisions.
