Top leaders agree to accelerate peace process

Kathmandu, Nov 21: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' discussed various aspects of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) with the ruling party, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and the main opposition party CPN (UML) Chairperson KP Sharma Oli.     

At the meeting held today at the Prime Minister's official residence in Baluwatar, the leaders discussed about completing the remaining task of the peace process, according to the private secretariat of the Prime Minister.     

The meeting also reviewed the progress and experience of the 17 years of the CPA and discussed plans for the days ahead. Bringing a formal end to the 10-year-long armed conflict, the CPA was signed by the then CPN (Maoist) Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' and then Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala on 21 November 2006.
