Police open eight rounds of blank fire in Bara

By Shiva Shankar Mishra, Bara, Nov.21: Police opened eight rounds of blank fire to control the squabble between two groups that took place over organizing the Mahabiri Flag Festival. 

The squabble took place between two groups at a meeting that was held on Monday afternoon over who will lead the Mahabiri Flag Festival at Benauli, Pachrauta Municipality-7, Bara district. Police settle the squabble by making two parties come to an agreement on the matter. 

Dadhi Ram Chaudhary, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) said that it has been a tradition to celebrate Brahma Baba on Monday night before a Hanuman Mahabiri Flag Festival on Wednesday. The fight broke out between ward chair-7, Banarashi Mukhiya Bin and Prabhu Patel and went extreme, therefore, police took it under control by firing eight rounds in the air. 

He said that Brahma Baba was worshipped from around 10-12 PM on Monday evening, during which a stone was pelted on 40-year-old Laxmi Patel thereby injuring his head while the other victim 42-year-old Chandika Patel’s leg was broken. both hails from Pachrauta Municipality-7, Bara district.

Both the injured are receiving treatment at LS Neuro and General Hospital, Paranipur, Birgunj. 

Suresh Prasad Kalfe, Superintendent of Police(SP) said that two groups took their stand on organizing different fairs at the place, so to avoid the situation going into extremity, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force were mobilized from Monday evening.
