By Gobinda Sharma, Jajarkot, Nov.7: Lalsari Budhathoki of Thaple, Bheri Municipality-3, Jajarkot, lost her husband two years ago and was recovering from the early demise of her son just a year ago.
Just when she was recovering from the death of her dear ones, tragedy struck her in the third year in the form of an earthquake. The house of Budhathoki was completely damaged in the earthquake that hit Jajarkot on Friday night.
While taking out items that were saved from an earthquake on Monday, Budhathoki said, “The earthquake struck and all of sudden my house collapsed." The deadly scenario was the same around her environment, houses were falling down and people lost their lives.
She said that even though she, her son and her daughter-in-law were sleeping inside the house they remained unscathed by the earthquake. 13 people have lost their lives in the earthquake in her ward. Youths and security personnel are taking out items useable items.
The earthquake victim's family complained that they had not received relief yet. Even though four days have passed since the earthquake, many people still live in tents and are sheltering in relatives' houses.
Shobha Shah, the teacher at Golden Boarding School, was living as a tenant in the house of Pratima Shah was also killed in the earthquake, while her husband, Mohan Bista, is receiving treatment at Bheri Hospital.
The house owner is living at her relative’s house as her three-story house was damaged by the earthquake.
She said, “Our family had gone to Nepalgunj to celebrate Dashain that's why we saved. We are witnessing the tragedy of tenants and neighbours.”
The school dorm was also completely damaged, however, there were no students, as all went to their respective homes to celebrate Dashain.
The victims have asked for items needed to prepare food and serve them
Local Prem Adhikari, said,” We have not received relief yet. We need cooking utensils if relief arrives.”
