By TRN Online, Kathmandu, April 22: A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between Gorkhapatra Corporation and Kathmandu Valley Development Authority in line with exchanging information and cooperation.
It is believed that this step will significantly contribute to promoting the institutional interests of both organizations.
On behalf of the Gorkhapatra Corporation, Chairperson of the Corporation Govinda Prasad Bhandari, Head of Department of Marketing Ganga Bahadur Panthi, signed the MoU, while Development Commissioner of the Authority Januka Dhakal and District Commissioner Sunita Shrestha signed on behalf of the Authority.
The Kathmandu Valley Development Authority aims to develop the Kathmandu Valley as Nepal’s leading administrative, tourism, cultural, and economic hub.
Entrusted with responsibilities such as expanding existing cities within the valley, establishing new urban areas, and implementing land-use planning, the Authority has also been running various programs in recent years to address the challenges posed by climate change.
The Authority has implemented 'Urban ecosystem best adaptation' since the year 2021 with an aim to build climate resilience.
It is expected that this new collaboration with Gorkhapatra will further strengthen its efforts to effectively reach the noble work of the authority among the general public.
There was the presence of other officials of both organizations at the event.
