By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Nov. 2: The Supreme Court (SC) has
issued an order to cancel the Government's decision to provide amnesty to Yog Raj
Dhakal 'Regal' who was serving life in prison for a murder case.
A full bench of
acting chief justice Ishwar Prasad Khatiwada, justices Sapana Pradhan Malla, and
Kumar Chudal issued the verdict on Thursday.
Information
officer of the SC, Govinda Prasad Ghimire, informed that the SC verdict has overturned the Government's decision to reduce Regal's prison terms.
President Ram
Chandra Paudel had on the occasion of the Constitution Day reduced Regal's
prison terms on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers.
Regal was serving a jail term for murdering Chetan Manandhar in 2015 with a sharp weapon (Khunda) in
Nepalgunj.
