Khajura (Banke), Oct 25: The Nepal-India border checkpoint has been closed down today in view of the immersion of the idols of Goddess Durga.
The Jamunaha checkpoint has been
shut down for today for adopting security alerts while religious processions
were scheduled to take place to immerse the idols of Goddess Durga that were
set up since Bijaya Dashami in the rivers, informed Banke Chief District
Officer Shrawan Kumar Pokharel.
The checkpoint has been closed till
8.00 pm today in coordination with cross border security officials keeping into
consideration the security situation, he informed.
CDO Pokharel informed that vehicles
except ambulance, fire engine and vehicles carrying medicines and food have
been restricted to enter into Nepal.
The processions are taking place on
the roads of Nepalgunj now to take the idols of Goddess Durga to immerse into
the streams.
