Mother group produces sandal

Beni, Aug 15 :  The women associated with Galeshwordham Mothers Group in Galeshwhor of Beni Municipality-9, Myagdi have begun producing sandal.    
    
The mothers' group began commercial production of sandals after receiving 15-day training under the 'Deputy Mayor with Mothers' Groups'. Group's Vice Chair Bindu Karki Purja informed that the women attended a two-week-long special training and became able to produce sandal commercially. The production was launched from the Group's own building.    
    
Group's Secretary Nisha GC informed that they were making 'fancy sandal', aiming at replacing the import of sandal in local market. With this, the entrepreneurship is expected to contribute to women's income.    
    
Chief District Officer in Myagdi, Tulsiram Paudel, inaugurated the collective entrepreneurship of local women on Monday. CDO Paudel, Mayor of Beni Municipality, Surat KC; and Ward Chair Chakra Bahadur KC hoped that the commercial production of sandal would help promote women entrepreneurship, thereby making women financially self-dependent.    
    
The Group is planning to operate sales depot of the local product soon. It also sold 59 pairs of sandals from a mobile outlet at Galeshwor Temple Premises.  (RSS)
