Gaun Aayeko Bato selected for Toronto Film Festival

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Aug. 12‘Gaun Aayeko Bato’ (A Road to Village), a film directed by Nabin Subba has been selected for the 48th edition of the Toronto International  Film Festival. Releasing a press note through Facebook on Thursday, the production unit of the film said that the film has been selected for the festival. 

The production team expressed their happiness over the selection of the film and said that the news of the selection of this film for the prestigious festival not only brings a positive message about the Nepali film industry but also leaves a positive impact on the global stage. 

In this movie, made in the social backdrop of the Rai community, an attempt has been made to observe the ups and downs in the relationship between a father and his son after the construction of a road in the village. This movie is made on the concept of community investment. 

Nepali people who are scattered within the country and in different countries of the world have collectively invested for the production of the movie.

The movie was shot in Bhojpur's Amchok, Bhojpur Bazaar, Khandbari and Dharan. 

Dayahang Rai, Pashupati Rai, Prasan Rai, Keshav Rai, Sumitra Rai, Raj Thapa and Prem Subba have acted in the movie. Written by Mahesh Rai and Nabin Subba, the film has cinematography by Josh Herum, and editing by Kwan Pun Liung. 

The Toronto International Film Festival is slated from September 7 to 17.
