By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, July 31: A television reality show ‘Mahaguffadi’ (extremely talkative) has been officially announced during a programme held in the capital on Sunday.
The show will be directed by Naresh Nath Yogi, who is also a cinema writer, choreographer and fight director. According to Yogi, speech art is a form of entertainment, and the reality show will serve as a platform for those who have not yet found the right opportunity to express themselves and want to make a mark in life through speaking.
The show is produced under the banner of Dhaka Topi Films and welcomes Nepali speakers and citizens from all around the world to participate.
While auditions can be conducted in various languages, priority will be given to the participants who use Nepali, organisers informed.
Throughout the season, contestants will be judged based on their knowledge, attention to gossip, and the art of storytelling.
Auditions for the reality show will be conducted digitally, and only the best 18 individuals selected from the digital audition will proceed to the show.
According to the organiser, the grand finale of the 16-week show will be held in Australia.
Additionally, the first world tour for the winners of the show is planned from Canada. The winner of the reality show will be determined by audience voting.
Currently, the digital rights for broadcasting the show on any television network have not been sold, and the organisers are in the process of finalising the television channel and digital partner for the show’s broadcast.
Senior poet Shailendra Simkhada, actress Loonibha Tuladhar and actor Buddhi Tamang will be the judges of the show while actor Kameshwor Chaurasiya will host it.
The winner of ‘Mahaguffadi’ will be awarded Rs. 1.5 million and a vehicle, while the first runner-up will receive Rs. 1 million and a vehicle. The second runner-up will be awarded Rs. 500,000 and a vehicle, and the fourth and fifth runners-up will be given a lucky gift hamper, said the organisers.
The digital auditions of the show will start on July 31 and will be broadcast from the second week of October, informed the organisers.
