Applications for Miss Universe Nepal open

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, July 28: Application for the fourth edition of the Miss Universe Nepal 2023 is now open.

Organising a press conference at Nepal Tourism Board on Thursday, the organiser Umanga Creation made an announcement of the 

new edition. 

Nagma Shrestha, the national director of the beauty pageant and a former Miss Universe Nepal herself, revealed that the upcoming edition will be more inclusive and democratic.

Shrestha informed that interested participants can apply for the beauty pageant by August 3.  

Keeping all the previous criteria as it is, this year the organiser has extended the age limit of the contestants from 18 to 28. 

According to the organiser, there are no height or weight criteria, and the competition welcomes transgender women, non-resident Nepalis, married women, and mothers to participate in the contest. 

The grand finale is scheduled to be held on September 8, said the organiser. 

The winner will represent Nepal in the international Miss Universe competition, which is scheduled to be held at El Salvador in Central America on November 18.
