By Dharbendra Jha,Dhanusha, July 22: Minister for Communication and Information Technology Rekha Sharma has said that the government has a plan to declare at least two districts of every province as having full access to telecommunication services.

She said so while addressing an interaction programme organised by Nepal Telecom Provincial Directorate and Madhes Province in Janakpurdham on Friday.

She also emphasised that all the places of Nepal should be within the reach of information technology (IT).

Minister Sharma also highlighted the government plans and policies to develop information technology in all the municipalities and wards.

She further added everyone should have the skill to use information technology.

Although towers are built in different places, the network problem is felt frequently in lack of equipment and other reasons, thus telecom should give attention to solving such issues, she said.

"Time and again the ministers of Madhes Province have complained about the problem in the network,

and such complaints are immediately forwarded to Nepal Telecom"

she said, adding "Telecom generates huge revenue from Madhes Province, so the problems of telecommunication network should be solved immediately.”

Apart from four rural municipalities, all the rural municipalities have the reach of communication technology, she said.

Compared to other provinces, communication technology is more developed in Madhes, she said. While talking about politics she added good governance was the ultimate goal of the government.
