Welcome gate construction begins in Nepal-India checkpoint Belahiya

By Laxman Paudel, Bhairahawa, July 20: The construction of a welcome gate has been started in Belahiya, an entry point at the Nepal-India border, to attract tourists.

Though the welcome gate of the Indian side was managed and well structured, there was an old, congested and dilapidated gate was in the Nepal entry side from which vehicular and people's movement used to remain difficult. 

To remove such difficulties Siddharthanagar Municipality has started the construction of the new entry gate nearby the Nepal-India border. 

Mayor of the Siddharthanagar Municipality Istiyaq Ahmed Khan said that the current welcome gate is going to be demolished during the expansion of the six-lane road. He said informed that in place of the old gate Pashupatinath Temple shape's new entrance gate will be constructed. 

At the welcome gate digital board and other technology including lighting will be fitted and on the south side of the gate 'Welcome to Nepal' will be written.
