Aadikabi commemorated by reciting Ramayana

By Amaraj Naharki,Tanahun, July 15: The recitation of the Ramayana by Batuk Bimal Upadhyay Neupane from Maharshived Vyas Vidyashram left everyone present amazed by his melodious voice. The recitation of the Ramayana by Neupane at the Ramayana recitation programme held at Bal Mandir Madhyamik Vidyalaya Damauli in Damauli on the occasion of the  210th Bhanu Jayanti held all those present spellbound.

Similarly, Amisa Gharti and Rusma Rasaili, students of Bal Mandir Secondary School, captivated the audience with their melodious recitation of the Ramayana, leaving everyone enchanted.

The audience experienced great joy as Saraswati Dhauliya and Swadhinata Poudel took turns reciting verses from the Ramayana, one after the other.

Shankarraj Naharki, the president of the Nepali Writers' Association Tanahun, said the purpose of the programme was to pay tribute to Pioneer Poet Bhanubhakta Acharya and teach the students the art of reciting the Ramayana verses.

Kashinath Neupane, a professor of Vyasa and a writer, inaugurated the programme. During his address, Neupane highlighted the significance of Bhanubhakta's poetry in unifying the Nepali people.

He mentioned that Aadikabi Bhanubhakta emotionally connected Nepalis with his poetry and literature.

According to Neupane, Aadikabi Bhanubhakta was not only a poet but also a unifying force that connected the realms of Nepali language, literature, and caste.

Similarly, a competition combining poetry and Ramayana recitation took place at Chundi Ramgha, the birthplace of Aadikabi Bhanubhakta.

In the open poetry competition, Dayaram Paudel secured the first position while Bivek Parajuli became second and Binayak Nepali third.

Likewise, Aaradhya Dhakal claimed the top spot in the Ramayan recitation competition, while Swadhinata Paudel secured second place, and Prastuti Acharya secured the third position. In the Ramayana reading category, consolation prizes were presented to Vinisha Shrestha and Raksha Paudel.
