Police on brink of two volleyball league titles

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, July 15: Nepal Police Club advanced to the final of men’s and women’s section in the 7th PM Cup NVA National Club Leauge 2080 on Friday.

Police rallied past New Diamond in a straight three sets 25-20, 25-14, 25-17 in the last league match of women’s league. Police remained unbeaten and topped the league table with 15 points from five matches. 

Police will meet APF Club in the final. APF occupy second position with 11 points. 

In the men’s league, Police confirmed the final place with a 3-0 win over APF Club. Police eased past APF 25-22, 25-13, 25-15 to amass 15 points and enter the final finishing at second of the standings. 

Tiptop Help Nepal overcame Army’s challenge 3-1 to fix the final date with Police. Help Nepal remained invincible with a hard-fought 29-27, 21-25, 25-22, 39-37 triumph over Army. The result meant Help Nepal topped the league table with 16 points.

Army sit in the third position with 11 points. 

In the other match of women’s category, Tribhuwan Army Club collected eight points following  its 25-18, 25-12, 25-15 win over Gandaki Province. 

Likewise, Gandaki Province bagged second win with a 25-21, 25-15, 25-16 victory over Dawanli Club in the men’s league.
