blog

BY OUR CORRESPONDENT,Dadeldhura, July 13: Mina Luhare, a resident of Jamarani in Parshuram Municipality-8, Dadeldhura, gave birth to a baby in the middle of the road on her way to a health post. Due to the lack of road connectivity and hospitals in the village, Luhare gave birth to the baby while she was being taken to hospital.

Kabita Dhamala, a local, informed that the labour pain started on Tuesday evening. While locals were carrying Lahure on their backs to Sadani Health Post, the baby was born in the middle of the jungle in Lamigadha at around 6:30 pm the same day. Dhamala said that since there was not even a stretcher in the village, women from the village had to carry Luhare on their back to the hospital.

Bhupendra Dhami, a local, said that it takes around two hours to reach the health post from the village on foot. The villagers somehow managed to deliver the baby though they were someone hour away from the health post. However, both mother and baby were taken to the health post at 10 pm after the bleeding did not stop. After the checkup, it has been informed that the health condition of both mother and baby was normal.
