Do not scatter budget in minor projects, says Minister Limbu

BY OUR CORRESPONDENT,Urlabari, July 7: Dinesh Paudel, vice chairman of Miklajung Rural Municipality in Morang, has unveiled a budget of Rs. 876.69 million for the fiscal year 2023/024.

Amid the 12th municipal session on Wednesday,  Paudel presented the budget of Rs. 876,688,300, including Rs. 420,563,574 for current expenditure and Rs. 396,064,723 for capital expenditure. 

The budget has given priority to agriculture and animal husbandry while most budget has been allocated to the headings of education and health.

Inaugurating the municipal session of the rural municipality, Minister for Youth and Sports Dig Bahadur Limbu urged one and all not to spend the development budget received from the local, provincial and federal governments on a single project.

 He also thanked the rural municipality for introducing the farmer-centric programmes and suggested not to scatter budgets for minor projects. He said that the rural municipality has introduced programmes to provide subsidised loans and manage fertilisers, seeds and technical support to the farmers. 

Stating that the Regional Development Fund had been reorganised, he said that the needs of the citizens could be met if the budget received from all three levels of government was mobilised in an organised matter.

 He stressed the need for moving forward with a common agenda without party or personal interests in the development activities.
