Training to play Panchebaja held in Banke

By Our Correspondent,Nepalgunj, July 2: With the aim of promoting and preserving tradition and cultures, training has been provided to the women of Raptisonari of Banke to play Panchebaja. 

The 15-day training was provided to the women of Dhakeri in Raptisonari Rural Municipality Ward No. 9. It was organised by the Art Culture and Panchebaja Conservation Committee. 

Kabindra Pariyar, managing director of the committee, said that the women’s team has been prepared and trained to preserve the culture and traditions of the Dalit community. 

He said that after receiving the training, seven women from Tharu, Chettri and Dalit communities could now play Panchebaja. 

Thal Bahadur Pariyar of Gurbhakot, Surkhet, was the instructor. Instructor Pariyar said that the women who participated in the training were very enthusiastic about preserving 

their culture.

He added, "We are united to conserve our culture. This is our small effort. In the future, we will do more activities for the preservation 

of culture". 

The Lumbini Province government has provided financial support of Rs. 500,000 for the committee to enhance its capabilities.
