Yoga connects humans with universe: Minister Kirati

By Our Correspondent,Bhairahawa, June 21: On the occasion of International Yoga Day, yoga was practised in Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha, in the presence of the Minister for Culture Tourism and Civil Aviation, Sudan Kirati on Tuesday

Chief Minister of Lumbini Province Dilli Bahadur Chaudhary and Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava were also present on the occasion. 

Addressing the event organised by the Lumbini Development Trust, Embassy of India and Patanjali Nepal, Minister Kirati said that Yoga, which started from the Indian subcontinent, is connected with the Indus Valley Civilisation and now has become popular worldwide. 

He said that even though Maharishi Patanjali formulated the main formula scientifically, many sages contributed to enriching Yoga, with Gautam Buddha being in the forefront. 

Minister Kiranti said that yoga is linked with not only religious, physical and mental health benefits but also connects humans with the universe and common knowledge of human well-being.

Minister Kirati said that the friendship between Nepal and India started 2300 years ago, and it has been further strengthened with the Prime Minister's recent visit to India. 

He also said that Nepal would be incomplete without Ram and India would be incomplete without Sita. 

Minister Kiranti also said that they were informed that the Indian government was positive to provide air route to the Gautam Buddha International Airport of Bhairahawa.

At the event, Indian ambassador Naveen Srivastava said that yoga first began in India and is also linked with Nepal-India relations.

Similarly, on the occasion of World Yoga Day, Manarasiswa Municipality in Mahottari district is going to organise a big yoga camp on Wednesday. 

According to our Bardibas correspondent, Manarasiswa, which came into the limelight by introducing yoga and Sanskrit education compulsory at the school level, has made preparations to celebrate the 9th World Yoga Day on the premises of the local Durga Secondary School. 

Mayor Mohan Pandey said that a large and special yoga camp has been prepared on the occasion of the 9th World Yoga Day with the slogan of 'One World One Health'.
