By Our Correspondent,Nepalgunj, June 21: A one-week creative writing and skills workshop was organised at Jangyan Jyoti Secondary School in Kohalpur- 1, Banke, with the aim of honing poetry writing and recitation skills of the students.
The workshop was coordinated by Sumitra Neupane, the principal of the school. Neupane said that during the workshop, the students were taught the art of poetry writing and were encouraged to write and recite their own poems in the school hall.
The workshop commenced with the slogan ‘My school is my responsibility,’ added enthusiasm to the children.
Senior poet Devi Nepal provided training on poetry writing and expressed her delight in contributing to the students’ energy and passion for poetry.
Speaking at the workshop, Mahananda Dhakal, member of Nepal Academy expressed his appreciation to the school for offering a platform where children could uncover their latent abilities by receiving training in poetry writing and recitation.
During the event, Khimlal Sharma, the chairman of the school management committee, highlighted that the workshop was part of a planned effort to engage students in literary activities. He emphasised the importance of encouraging children to participate actively in reading and other creative endeavours.
Bishnumaya Bhandari, the extracurricular activities coordinator of the school, informed that 74 students had registered their names for the workshop to learn the skills of writing and reciting poetry.
