blog

By A Staff Reporter,Godawori, (Lalitpur), June 18: Nepali doctors graduated from Pakistan have provided free medical services to more than 300 locals at Kitini in Godawori Municipality Saturday.

The patients mostly comprised the poor, needy, disabled, Dalits and elderly people.

Nepal-Pakistan Friendship and Cultural Association (NPFCA) organised the 18th medical camp on the premises of Shree Siddheshwor School.

Mayor of Godawori Municipality Gajendra Maharjan said that his office was doing its best to provide basic facilities to the local community.

We are in the dire need of the fire engine and ambulances, he said, adding that this health camp has taken Nepal-Pakistan relationship up to the ward level.

Charge'd Affaires of Pakistan Umair Ali expressed his commitment to donating an ambulance to Godawori Municipality as a token of love to the Nepali people. “Pakistan and Nepal have been enjoying sound ties since the establishment of their ties in 1960. The medical camp will further enhance the people-to-people ties between the two countries.”

NPFCA President Dr. Manju Ratna Sakya said that his organisation aimed to provide medical service to those unable to afford the expensive health facilities. “This is good way to boost the relations between Nepal and Pakistan.”

Godawori Municipality Ward chairman Sanu Raja Ghimire said that this was perhaps the largest health camp with many specialists and visiting patients.

The doctors examined the people with diabetes, blood pressure, orthopaedic and gynecological complications, among others. Nova Genetica, SMS Clinic and other private companies had distributed medicines free of cost. Likewise, Arksh Food has donated four packets of biscuits to each visitor.

The Association has been organising the medical camps each in Kathmandu and Kavrepalanchowk every year.
