By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, June 8: The Celebrity Nepal Pratishthan is hosting the second edition of the Nepal Rural Film Festival from Thursday, featuring a special ‘Master Class session.
The three-day film festival will highlight the theme of ‘own village, own language, own movie.’
Celebrity Nepal's president Raghunath Sapkota said that on the festival's third day in Bhakundebesi, Kavre, there will be a ‘master class session’ conducted by writer and director Dipendra Lama, actress Deeya Pun, and Oscar College principal Ramraja Dahal.
This master class will specifically focus on rural films.
The organiser plans to announce the jury panel on the opening day of the festival.
Among the films to be screened at the festival are ‘Jhinge Dau,’ ‘Prakash,’ ‘Desan,’ and ‘Nirmaya’ along with a few Tamang and Gurung films.
Furthermore, the festival will host the premiere of the film ‘Lunga,’ which depicts Limbu culture and is scheduled for a wider release in July, said Sapkota.
The objective of the festival is to promote the local language, art, culture, and tourism while encouraging the habit of watching Nepali films, said Sapkota.
