Women entrepreneurs' special village to be built in Panchkhal

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, June 8: The government has decided to convert the industrial village located in Panchkhal Municipality of Kavrepalanchowk district into a special industrial village for women entrepreneurs.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Wednesday at the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers decided to convert the industrial village in Panchkhal Municipality of Kavrepalanchok district into a special industrial village for women entrepreneurs. For this, the Panchkhal Municipality in Kavrepalanchowk district had prepared a detailed project report to build a women's industrial village.

According to Panchkhal Municipality, the country's first-ever industrial village was built in Panchkhal Municipality-7 with a focus on women and agriculture. 

The government announced plans to build industrial villages in five local levels across five districts in the fiscal year 2076/77 BS. During the time, the government announced to set up industrial villages in three local governments of Kavrepalanchowk and one each in Makawanpur, Dolakha and Chitwan. 

Speaking after the Cabinet meeting, Minister for Communication and Information Technology Rekha Sharma said that it has been decided to appoint Joint Secretary Madan Bhujel as the chairman of the Kalimati Fruits and Vegetables Market Development Committee.

The meeting has decided to issue an order prohibiting strikes in essential services in accordance with sub-section 1 of section 3 of the Essential Services Operation Act 1957 and to publish the notice in the Nepal Gazette.

The Cabinet has decided to allow Upper Mailung River Hydropower Limited to use the national forest area of Rasuwa and Nuwakot for the project's right-of-way to extend the transmission line. 

For that, it has also decided to approve the removal of the trees in the forest area.

Minister Sharma said that the government had also endorsed the visit of Kathmandu Metropolitan City's Mayor Balendra Shah to participate in the 14th 'Metropolis World Congress and Brussels Urban Summit 2023' to be held in Brussels, Belgium from June 12 to June 15. 

Similarly, Minister Sharma said that the Council of Ministers had given approval to submit the bill on electricity trade to the Federal Parliament.
