Behold the majestic Annapurna!

blog

By Our Correspondent,Myagdi (Beni), May 23: Snow-capped mountains all around, glowing under the morning rays of the sun. Annapurna I, the tenth highest mountain in the world, towers towards the heavens.

Blessed be the eyes that get the opportunity to behold this beauty. Nepali and foreign nationals who make the tiring journey to reach here forget all their pains and worries and claim to find themselves in the midst of sublime beauty.

Those seeking this sight need only reach the Annapurna Base Camp that lies 4,190 metres above sea level in Narchyang, Annapurna Rural Municipality–4. Those who can climb to 4,305 metres may get an even clearer view of the majestic Annapurna I which itself stands at 8,091 metres.

Those wanting more take the Maurice Herzog trail where, after walking for eight hours, they reach the northern camp of Mount Annapurna at an altitude of 4,050 metres. Here, they get to feast their eyes on a beautiful glacial lake with water sparkling as bright as a diamond.
