Dry season hits Electricity production in Marsyangdi Hydropower

By Amarraj Narharki, Tanahu, May 14: Extended period of dry season has slowed down the full capacity production of electricity in Marsyangdi Hydropower located in Aanbu Khaireni rural municipality-4, Tanahun.


Chief of the centre, Badri Phuyanal said that electricity production capacity fell down to half as flow of river is slowing down as dry season lasting for longer period. 

He informed that demand of electricity goes higher in morning and evening.  Water reserves in the noon time.

In this dry season, production capacity of station fell down to 40 MW (megawatt).  

The station has capacity to produce 69 MW electricity in its full capacity from its three units.

Nepal Electricity Authority is compelled to import from India if station production capacity goes down.

Electricity of this station gets transmitted in national transmission line which is linked in Bharatpur-Kathmandu station.
