By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, May 3: Inspector General of the Armed Police Force, Nepal, Raju Aryal has claimed that there is no political interference in the transfer and promotion of personnel within his organisation.
Speaking at a press conference organised by the APF, Nepal on Monday on the occasion of one-year in office as IGP, Inspector General Aryal said that there was no political interference in the transfer and promotion within the force.
He clarified that transfers and promotions were being done as per the organisation’s provisions and wishes of the organisation. He also said that the deformities in the uniform of the armed police force have
been settled.
He said that protecting the border was their main mandate and mentioned that manpower would be placed at the border points based on priority.
Inspector General Aryal informed that the goal of digitising the work had been set and the government had also provided budget assurance for this.
“We will keep manpower at the border based on priority. We don’t do it only when we get facilities, but according to the priority to set up border outposts,” he said.
He also said that he was moving forward with the aim of establishing the Armed Police Force as an attractive service and choice of all Nepali aspirants to join APF. Meanwhile, the APF has informed that it has set up a counter-terrorism unit office at the Headquarters, Halchowk.
Spokesperson of the Armed Police Force and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rajendra Khadka informed that the counter-terrorism unit had been established at the Headquarters.
SSP Khadka said, “The work has been started by forming a counter-terrorism unit.” The counter-terrorism unit is placed under the Department of Operations of the Headquarters.
SSP Khadka said that they were going to provide training to the officers working in each anti-terrorism unit by preparing a schedule.
