By Netra Shahi,Jumla, Apr. 29: All the students from the first batch of Bachelor in Public Health (BPH) programme from Karnali Academy of Health Sciences (KAHS) in Jumla district have passed the license exam of Nepal Health Professional Council (NPHC).
According to the result of the 6th License Examination of the NPHC published on Wednesday, a total of 332 BPH graduates had sit in the license exam. Among them, only 54.22 per cent (180 candidates) passed it.
"There were 20 students in the first batch of BPH from our academy. There were 18 in the second batch, eight in third and 15 in fourth. Now, we will have our fifth batch and have expected 20 students," said Muniraj Chhetri, Dean of the School of Public Health of the KAHS.
According to Chhetri, 17 students from the first batch had participated in the recently conducted license exam. "All of them passed it when the overall passing rate was 54.22 per cent," said Chhetri.
The KAHS also informed that five of the 17 students were girls.
"We have been trying to provide best education with the available advanced technology and resources to produce quality manpower," said Chhetri.
Meanwhile, the KAHS is also planning to provide classes for Master in Public Health (MPH) as they have already prepared its curriculum and are waiting for approval.
"We are proud of our BPH first batch students. We are also producing quality manpower through MBBS, MD/MS, B. Pharmacy, Bachelor in Nursing (BNS) and Bachelor of Medical Science (BMS) programmes," said Dr. Mangal Rawal, Vice-Chancellor of the KAHS.
The KAHS is currently running classes with 50 students in its second batch of MBBS.
