Chaurjahari Municipality distributes social security allowances in doorsteps

By Our Correspondent,Rukum West, Apr. 28: Chaurjahari Municipality in Rukum West district has made arrangements to distribute social security allowances reaching every village. For the convenience of beneficiaries, the municipality has deployed bank employees in villages to distribute the social security allowances.

The municipality has informed that 5,012 beneficiaries of 14 wards of the municipality will be provided with the allowances. People's representatives will accompany the bank employees while visiting villages to distribute the allowances. 

Kum Bahadur Khadka, the spokesperson for Chaurjahari Municipality, said that they have started providing social security allowances to the persons who could not walk to the banks due to physical disability reaching their villages. 

He informed that senior citizens and disabled persons have benefited from this work. Spokesperson Khadka said that when the senior citizens were facing difficulties in travelling a long distance, waiting in queues in banks for hours, and facing other problems while withdrawing the social security allowance, the municipality had made the arrangements to provide the services by visiting the villages.

According to information provided by Ishwari Sharma BM, Deputy Mayor of Chaurjahari Municipality, Nepal Bank Limited Chaurjahari branch will provide social security allowance to 177 beneficiaries in ward No.14 as per the system arranged by the municipality. She further said that Nepal Bank, Rastriya Banijya Bank, and Laxmi Bank will provide social security allowances to the beneficiaries in all wards of Chaurjahari Municipality. 

BM said that the allowances would be distributed to the beneficiaries from Ward No.10 to 14 by Nepal Bank Limited, from Ward No .4 to 9 by the Rastriya Banijya Bank and from Ward No.1 to 3 by Laxmi Bank.

The number of senior citizens receiving social security allowance in Chaurjahari Municipality is 1, 218. Similarly, 241 elderly Dalits, 192 single women, 383 widows, 80 people with total disabilities and 104 severely disabled people are also receiving the allowance. According to the municipality, 784 Dalit children and 2,010 scheduled children also get the allowance. 

Representatives of the community, employees, bank employees, Nepali police, and municipality police participate in the social security allowance distribution programme.
