Bhumari staged at Basantapur

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Apr. 28: Bhumari, a street play, was performed in Basantpur, Kathmandu on Thursday.

The play was staged with a message of liberating the youth addicted to drugs and alcohol.

Namaste Diwakar Ghimire, Sarita Rajopadhyaya, Yugjyoti Kriyashil, IP Acharya, Tikaram Acharya, Suraj Khadka, Dhrona Prasad Poudel (KP), Arjun Katwal and Ghanshyam Gautam acted lively in the play written and directed by writer and actor Ghanshyam Gautam.

Bhumari, prepared in cooperation with Uddar Nepal and Caritas Nepal, shows how the school students become addicted and how they could be rescued and how they could be taught to live a new life.

According to the organiser, over 500 spectators watched the play and suggested that such plays should be performed across the country to generate awareness against drug abuse and alcohol consumption.
