By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Apr. 23: Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha has said that the remaining tasks of the peace process must complete at any cost.

In his address to a programme of Press Centre Nepal here on Saturday, DPM Shrestha said the peace process should be concluded now at any cost while completing the work of transitional justice.

Stating that attempts were being made to prevent the completion of the peace process, DPM Shrestha said that there was no choice but to move forward by making the attempt a failure.

Deputy Prime Minister Shrestha said, “The task of the peace process related to the transitional period is yet to be performed.

The task of concluding transitional justice can be achieved only by completing the work of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and the Commission of Investigation on Enforced Disappeared Persons.”

“The task of peace process and transitional justice should have been completed after the promulgation of the new constitution. However, it has not been completed even after eight years,” he shared his worries.

Admitting that there were some problems in the national economy, DPM Shrestha assured to address them soon. “The government wants to make the journey of prosperity sustainable by resolving the problems.”

“In a bid to fulfill people’s aspirations and party’s commitment and to secure the earned achievements, we must speed up the journey of prosperity."
