Trending teen-throb Oshin drops vibrant single ‘Rahar’

Born on May 30, 2006, Oshin Karki is a singer/songwriter who initially captivated her followers from platforms such as TikTok and Instagram. The Gen Z star has earned a ton of admirers who cherish her euphonious vocal abilities, edgy persona and mesmerizing melodic tunes. Influenced by singers such as Shiloh Dynasty, Chelsea Cutler, Jeremy Zucker, Vek, Yabesh Thapa, Sajjan Raj Vaidya and Sushant KC, the songstress wants to venture into the musical realm in depth to elicit her inner potential as a creative singer/songwriter.

The self-taught gifted teen only began her singing journey amidst the global pandemic; she used to take part in musical performances held at her school before but was rather frivolous about her musical calibre. However, during the lockdown, post discovering some of her favourite musicians, Karki, enticed by their artistic visions and manifestations, could not hold her urges any longer and posted renditions of some of her most 

reverent tunes.

To her surprise, these clips started circulating faster than expected and everyone reaching out to her was head over heels for the singer's dynamic vocal range and sugar-coated timbre. Witnessing this massive love pour her way, the once-guarded singer stepped out of her shell and channelled her most venerable and expressive persona with more conviction than ever before. She would then continue to post tons of covers and occasional short videos flashing bits and pieces of her material until her debut single "Samhala" was released in May 2022.

Three months later the songstress published her second single "K Soche Thiye K Vaidiyo." Both these releases were premiered via the YouTube handle of ‘ClassX Presentation’ with Storenutter on music arrangement and production duties.

ClassX Presentation is a platform run by a group of creatively fueled multimedia artists aiming to bridge the gap between emerging inventors and their market by fostering a suitable environment for their art to expand, materialise and prosper. Some of their popular subordinate musicians include Vek, Dong, Yabesh Thapa, Oshin Karki, Jybs Gurung and SNJV among others.

The singer published her most famous and critically acclaimed tune "Angalney Chu" in March this year through her own YouTube channel. With over 62,000 subscribers on her YouTube, the song flatters her voice and justifies her impactful compositional abilities portraying her a shade apart from typical viral singers. But Oshin, as per her narrative, is only just starting.

This is very well displayed in her fourth and latest release "Rahar." Published on April 12, 2023, this song is currently #21 on trending for music according to Nepal-moderated YouTube Broadcast. Written and composed by Oshin, the track is arranged and produced by her all-time collaborator Storenutter, who is also credited for the video direction, cinematography and editing; the project is a presentation of ClassX.

A very groovy and upbeat tune, Rahar demonstrates her age-appropriate aura, style and context. The song is happy, fast-paced, chill and delightfully catchy from the first listen.

Layers of vocal harmonies, great falsetto works, on-par vocal counterpoints, and smooth legato fill accumulate to shape this modern pop texture. The verses almost appear as stacks of transcending choruses knitted subsequently to cater to the contemporary demands of platforms like TikTok. Commendable work on the song structure and arrangement/instrumentations as well.
