Fire guts two houses, four sheds in Syangja

By Arjun Kalfe, Syangja, April 19:  Two houses and four sheds have been gutted by fire that broke out at Argaudi, Aandhikhola Rural Municipality-1, Syangja district.

The two-storied house of locals Khagendra Tiwari and Dhanpati Tiwari, made of stone and mud and a tin roof topped, has been burnt down.

According to the District Police Office, a damage worth 2 million rupees, including damage to four sheds, has been estimated. 

The fire, which started in the forest on Tuesday evening, caught the village engulfing two houses and four sheds of locals. 

The fire was brought under control within four hours with the efforts of the Nepal Army, Armed Police Force, Nepal Police, and locals. The fire brigade of Putali Bazar Municipality was brought to put out the fire. 

Bishow Poudel, ward chair of Aandhikhola Rural Municipality, said that an Argaudi village, where houses are towed together in the middle of the jungle, has been saved from being completely destroyed by the effort of the Nepal Army, Armed Police Force, Nepal Police, and locals. 

He said no human or animal fatalities has been recorded by the fire, however, grains, foods, clothes, and utensils were heavily destroyed. 

The Aandhikhola and Arjun Chaupari Rural Municipality have committed to giving the necessary support to the victims of the fire. 

Ward Chair Poudel, who reached the spot after the houses were burnt down by the fire, said that there will be support from the rural municipality to the fire victims and coordination will be done to rebuild the burnt houses and sheds. 

Likewise, Prakash Tiwari, Ward Chair of the Arjun Chaupari Rural Municipality said that necessary support will be given to the fire victims on human grounds,
