Minister Bhusal vows to stop animal, bird smuggling

By Our Correspondent,Birgunj, Apr. 8: Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development Dr. Bedu Ram Bhusal has said that he will coordinate with the Ministry of Home Affairs to stop the smuggling of banned animals and poultry products to Nepal.

He made this remark while inspecting the building of Animal Quarantine Office, Birgunj, on Friday.

Hare Ram Yadav, chief of Animal Quarantine Office, Birgunj, briefed Minister Bhusal about the activities of office and scenario of illegal import of banned animals and poultry products through the border,

He said that due to open border and easy movements, illegal import of banned animals and poultry products from the Indian cities was taking place through various ports of Parsa despite their hard work to control them.

He said that they were working  hard day and night to seize and destroy  smuggled animals and goods. 

The Minister who came to participate in the programme of All Nepal National Peasants’ Federation organised in Kachorwa of Simraungadh Municipal of Bara district reached Birgunj to inspect the Animal Quarantine Office in Birgunj.
