7: Minister for Communication and Information Technology Rekha Sharma has said
that the government formulates rules and laws keeping national interest in the
center.
Minister Sharma made this commitment
speaking on matters of public importance at the meeting of the House of
Representatives (HoR) today.
She said her ministry has taken
only the agreement in principle from the Cabinet to formulate new telecommunication
Bill and that there was no ounce of truth in the rumours that it was being
introduced in accord with some entities.
The CIT minister made it clear that Bill was
required to cover the development of the CIT that has taken place since 2053 BS
when the telecommunication Act was introduced and that the federal parliament
will give a final touch to the Bill to be tabled.
She informed that the CIT ministry has already
formulated the draft of the Bill that will replace telecommunication Act 2053.
The ministry has also got consent from the Ministry of Law, Justice and
Parliamentary Affairs to formulate the Bill.
She said the Cabinet gave the approval to formulate
the Bill on March 20 and that the draft of the Bill will be finalized
considering the nation's needs and justification.
CIT Minister Sharma vowed that her ministry will not
work by forging agreement with any telecommunication service provider.
The ministry works on the basis of constitution and
related laws, said Minister Sharma, adding, process for amending Acts related
to the film and the postal service was also underway.
