By Our Correspondent,Ilam, April.1: Ilam is hosting a two-day ‘Ilam Literature Festival’ with the slogan ‘Literature for Tourism’ on April 9 to 10.
The festival will be jointly organised by Nagar Kala Sahitya Academy and Ilam Literary Society.
Organising a press conference on Thursday, Surendra Rai, president of the society, said that over 150 writers from Nepal and India would participate in the festival.
Prakash Thamsuhang, president of Nagar Kala Sahitya Academy, said that writers from Jhapa, Morang, Chitwan, Hetauda, Kathmandu, Pokhara and other places in Nepal along with writers from Sikkim, Kalimpong, Darjeeling, Kolkata, Jharkhand, Siliguri in India would participate in the festival.
“We are organising this festival to create an image that Ilam hosts literary festival every year. We are preparing a way for those who love Nepali literature to visit to Ilam,” said Thamsuhang.
He informed that there would be the panel discussion on topics such as local consciousness in poetry, art and tribal aesthetic consciousness, from Mahabhara to Tista, inclusive writing, eastern language in Nepali tourism and so on.
It is said that the festival will also discuss Hindi and Nepali literary works.
