ANNFSU wins in majority of campuses

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Mar. 21: Results of the Free Students Union election are pouring in from across the country.  By now, the All Nepal National Free Student Union affiliated to the CPN-UML has won in majority of the campuses. 

While in the Central Campus of Tribhuvan University in Kritipur, Nepal, Student Union's Shayam Raj Ojha was elected as president. In the Nursing Campus of Maharjgunj, Nobina Basnet of the All Nepal National Independent Student Union of UML emerged victorious.

Likewise, in Pulchowk Campus  Biraj Aryal of the All Nepal National Free Student Union has been elected as president of the FSU. 

Likewise, outside Kathmandu, Mahesh Hamal of the Nepal Students Union (NSU) has been elected as FSU president in Jumla Multiple Campus.

According to our Jumla correspondent Netra Shahi, Hamal won by securing 142 votes. 

His opponent, All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU) candidate Bishnu Bhandari secured 139 votes.

Similarly, in Mushikot, Rukum, new leadership has been elected in seven campuses under Tribhuvan University. 

According to the voting results, the ANNISU (Revolutionary) has been elected in six campuses while NSU has won in one campus.

In Dadeldhura Multiple Campus, Nepal Student Union swept the election winning all seats. Of 523 total votes cast, Durga Prasad Bhatta of NSU won by getting 310 votes. 

Madan Bohra, the presidential candidate of the Nepal Student Union (BP) got 108 votes while Ganesh Chhetri of ANNFSU got 70 votes.

Meanwhile, in Syangja, NSU was elected in five campuses and ANNFSU in two campuses, while the election has been put off in one campus. 

In Sunsari, Dev Kumar Yadav of the Socialists Student Union, affiliated to the CPN (Unified Socialist), was elected FSU president in Sunsari Multiple Campus, Inaruwa. 

In Accham, ANNFSU won the FSU election in Kamal Bazaar Multiple Campus and NSU in Tripura Sundari Campus.  

Surendra Chalaune of ANNFSU won by securing 121 votes in Kamal Bazaar Campus and Manisha Bista won with 111 votes in Tripura Sundari Campus. The election was put off in five campuses in the district due to the dispute. 

 Of 12 campuses of Rupandehi, election was held only in six campuses and ANNFSU and NSU won in three campuses each.
