By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Mar. 18: Nepal Student Union Central Committee has made public its election manifesto for the election of the Independent Student Union slated for March 19.
Organising a press meet on Thursday, the NSU made public its election manifesto, which has focused on its education policy of promoting democratic norms and values with knowledge useful to life.
The election of ISU is being held in the campuses affiliated and associated with the Tribhuvan University, the oldest and largest university of the nation.
The student organisation affiliated to the Nepali Congress has committed to providing free health insurance and technology-friendly health care to all students.
It also stressed practical education calendar, disabled-friendly campuses and schools, justice in scholarship distribution, and clean and healthy environment in academic places in its manifesto.
It has also included the slogan of ‘education in the country and future in the country’.
NSU president Dujang Sherpa said in the press meet that the situation of universities was same even after the political system got changed.
He also said that educated youth were unbale to get employment in the country.
He said many problems have surfaced in the university as the election of the union has not been held for a long time.
Manifesto preparation committee member Bikal Rai also spoke on the occasion.
